Parks & Gardens
Let nature show you how beautiful the region is! First on our list is Cook Park, located in the centre of town around many heritage listed homes you will find this picture perfect scene. 4.5 hectares of parkland shows off the seasonal colours of Orange with a lovely family-friendly offering including the famous duckpond and swing play area. Be sure to add this to your morning walk itinerary, picnic plans or afternoon play spot during your stay.
Orange Botanic Gardens, located North of the CBD is a 17 hectare site for all the garden & nature lovers. The Botanic Gardens offer an impressive collections of plants and bird watching opportunities. A more secluded area to have a family picnic or relaxing stroll.
A now weekend ritual for locals, an Autumn weekend isn’t complete without a visit to Lake Canobolas. A short 10 minute drive from the CBD, the Lake ticks all the boxes. Plan your visit around a coffee catch up or lunch date at the Lakeside Cafe enjoy a sit down dining experience or a takeaway coffee out on the lawn bean bags. A dog friendly spot to walk the pouch, a lap around the lake will take about 20 minutes (pending speed) and allows you to soak up all the changing colour trees. For those of you that are familiar with Orange climate, Autumn is not the month for swimming but you can still enjoy the lovely water views.
